[Allison]
Allison walked into the park, her mind wandering. She never really went to the park but it was a beautiful day outside. Even though it was chilly, it was still pretty. She was bundled up in her black winter coat with a teal colored scarf and a teal colored hat. She was in jeans and her winter boots, as well, her gloved hands shoved deep in her pockets. Winter time was one of Allison's favorite times to shop, she loved flannels, coats, scarves, hats, gloves, boots, anything related to wintertime. It was one of her favorite times of the year along with fall. She wasn't much of a fan of winter because it was so hot, you could never get cold enough. But in winter, you could always add more layers.
Allison didn't know why she decided to come to the park, she never did unless she was with friends. Today, though, something about taking a walk sparked her interest. She needed to get out of her school, she needed to breathe fresh air.
Allison walked over to the swings, wiping the snow off of the seat before she sat down. She loved the snow, too. Snow angels, snow men, snowball fights, anything to do with the snow was fun. A memory flashed through her head that made her giggle out loud. When the first snowfall hit, she was outside as quickly as her small legs would let her. She was accompanied by Edward and Cameron and the three started a huge snowball fight right there in their pajamas. None of them cared that the bitter cold was slicing at their skin, none of them cared that their limbs were going numb. All that mattered to those three at that moment was the first snowfall of the year.
The smile stayed on her face as she pushed herself forward on the swing. Her growing love for Cameron was starting to be a problem for her, she couldn't stop thinking about him and it was starting to get awkward between them. She always wanted more and she was positive he didn't, which lead to her shuffling around and stuttering when they hung out.
She sighed and made a promise to herself she'd tell him how she felt on the last day of school if nothing happened before then. It was the best she could do for herself.
Allison remained unaware of everything around her which is why she didn't hear the approaching footsteps. That was the one downside of snow, if it was fresh it didn't make a sound as someone walked through it.

i got your picture, i'm coming with you dear maria, count me in there's a story at the bottom of this bottle, and I'm the pen
________________________________________________________________________________ jack walked down the wide pathway cutting through the park, his thoughts basically empty. he was actually trying to not think about anything, seeing as is life was too complicated at the moment to make him want to dwell on it. he just wanted to have fun, just wanted to enjoy nature and get away from the world. he stuck his hands deep in the pockets of his jacket, a school diadora zip-up that was surprisingly warm and good looking. he had been excited when the warmups weren't hidious as they usually were, and he wore it around all the time. plus, he had intense school spirit, and the soccer team was on it's way to state. why not brag about it? his last name and number were on the back, and the entire jacket was black. jack glanced down to see the softly falling snow turning the jacket a speckled reverse dalmation type of color, but he didn't really mind. he whistled softly to himself, avoiding thought and admiring the scenery. trees looked amazing in the snow, and the absense of scurrying creatures and loud people made it seem like he was alone in the world. snow seemed to put everything on pause, muting sound and making people slow down and enjoy life. at least, that's what jack was clinging too. in reality, most adults hated snow because it slowed everything down and they couldn't get to their workaholic jobs fast enough. jack silently vowed to always be able to enjoy the freshness of a snowy day, and nodded his head in agreement to his unspoken promise. he turned a corner and came upon a children's playground, deserted except for one lone swinging figure. he could tell immediately it was a girl, one who seemed to be about his age, if not older. jack changed his course so he would walk off the path, not even realizing how his arrogant walk would tell her he was a jock without him or his jacket saying a word. when he was close enough to see her face he broke out in a boyish grin, friendly and innocent. "hey there. mind if i join you?" jack paused at the step-up to the woodchips, waiting to see if she would blow him off. he had noticed her around school before, but never struck up a conversation. he didn't even know her name, he just knew she was one of demi's friends and that she ran with the elites. she might not even give him the time of day just because he was in a different clique, and he actually waited to see what she would say. ________________________________________________________________________________ when the lights go off, i wanna watch the way you take the stage by storm - the way you wrap those boys around your finger go on and play the leader, 'cause you know it's what you're good at the low road for the fast track, make every second last

[Allison]
Allison jumped when she heard someone speak. She had been so lost in her own thought that she hadn't heard anyone approach. She twirled around so quickly she lost her balance and tumbled off the swing into the snow. Good job, Allison.
She told herself as she blinked in the snow. That moment she wished she could disappear into the snow instead of facing the speaker with her face bright red from embarrassment. What would someone think if they saw Allison Halliwell face down in snow? Normally, she would be the laughing stock of the school, but she had power. She was an elite, everyone listened to her and no one dared to make fun of her. As gracefully as she could, she pulled herself upright, her face as red as bricks and it had nothing to do with the burn from the cold. The blush refused to leave her cheeks as she looked at the speaker. She had seen him around school before but never actually talked to him. She didn't really go out of her way to talk to people, she let them come to her. Most of the time, the ones that came to her she didn't give the time of day to. She had a select few friends and she was fine. But this guy... he was cute. What was his name... Jack? Yes... Jack something. At least she knew his name, that was a start. It would've been worse for her if she didn't. "Yeah, sure, I'm Allison Halliwell by the way," she said, sticking out her hand. It was customary to shake hands, no matter how old the person was, it was something her father had taught her. She brushed the snow off of her self, the blush tinging her cheeks yet again as she shook the snow off. After they shook hands she sat back down on the swing, clutching the chains tightly this time so she wouldn't make a fool of herself yet again. "What are you doing out here?" She asked the question before she could stop herself. She probably shouldn't've asked such a nosy question after just meeting this guy but, she didn't really care. They were the only two in the park, she felt like she could say whatever she damn well pleased. A soft sigh broke out of her lips as she turned to look up at him. Very attractive, indeed. Maybe... maybe since the thing with Cameron was going absolutely nowhere she could start something with Jack, just until things picked up with Cameron. Hell, maybe in some odd chance this might make Cameron jealous. She forced herself not to think about that because it would make her laugh. No way would Cameron ever feel anything for her. But... this still seemed like a good plan. Allison was pulled back to reality when he started to speak. His voice was attractive too, very attractive. She took him in and silently confirmed her idea. She would work on starting something with Jack.[/blockquote][/blockquote] {{Length: 514 (without coding) {{Music: thats what you get ;; paramore{{Tags: jack

________________________________________________________________________________ "Yeah, sure, I'm Allison Halliwell by the way," her voice was cool and confident despite the raging blush upon her cheeks. with a nod, jack shook hands with her without a trace of awkwardness, his arrogance and charm overlaying any nervousness. he knew what girls saw when they saw him, and even with his still slightly green&yellow black eye he was confident in his looks. he didn't mention her little act of flopping out of the swing, seeing as she was trying to move on from the embarrasing accident. he figured if she was going to say something about it he would as well, but might as well leave well enough alone. he had had his share of horrifying slips, spills, and blunders in life, and it was preferable to him if people didn't comment on the embarrasments. jack walked up next to her, taking a seat on the swing to her left. he sat with ease, completely at home in his body and long past the gangly coltish stage of his pre-teen years. jack wrapped his hands on the chains at shoulder height and pushed with his feet. he let his nike's skim the woodchips as he swayed gently back and forth, push, swing, drag, push, swing, drag. he wasn't getting very high at all, his height barely changed in the soft arc he was swinging in, it was just a way of moving. jack always liked to be doing something, whether it was tapping his fingers, cracking his knuckles, or rotating in his chair. stillness was not something that he did well, and it showed. "What are you doing out here?" her voice was slightly snotty, but it appeared that she didn't even try to make it sound that way. a lot of elites were like that, and jack categorized her immediately. she could most likely tell already that he was a jock, so he didn't mention the title. "well, first off, i'm ryder o'malley..." he tilted his head in her direction, looking to the sides of his eyes to see her with a grin on his face. he didn't rotate his head to look at her, just tilted it back to it's original position with the boyish grin still on his face and continued. "... but you can call me jack..." his half-laugh shattered the snowy silence, and he turned to look at her all the way, the chain seeming to cut his face in half from her perspective. "and maybe i like freezing my butt off in the middle of winter on a snowy day. what about you?" he let out a laugh, easing the tension that seemed to build. he was very good at handling awkward moments, and his charm seemed to melt the silence. jack's jaw still ached slightly when he talked or ate from the punches demi's dad had given him, but he didn't regret a minute of it. being with demi was unlike anything he had ever experienced. most girls, like the one next to him, attracted him purely physically, and he usually chased after those ones. after all, he had a stereotype to live up to, didn't he? but demi is different; it seems like she likes him for what he is on the inside and not how hott he is on the outside, however cliche that sounds. jack let the grin slowly fade on his mouth as the silence stretched before them, but it was an easy silence. the snow still fell softly above them and jack admired how it looked against the color of her hair. she was very pretty, and he couldn't help but let his thoughts wander while he waited for her to answer. ________________________________________________________________________________ when the lights go off, i wanna watch the way you take the stage by storm - the way you wrap those boys around your finger go on and play the leader, 'cause you know it's what you're good at the low road for the fast track, make every second last

[Allison]
Allison swung slightly on the swings, not wanting to make the real effort and actually swing. She just wanted something to do without getting lost in her own head. She was starting to get... feelings, if you will, about something happening before it does. It's been that way all of her life but now it's getting worse.
One instance, she was reading her book when Cameron and Edward were playing frisbee. She was just sitting there, trying to focus on reading when she thought 'Huh, that would really hurt if I got hit in the head with that'. Not even a minute later she saw Cameron dive in front of her and catch the frisbee. She was in shock more from having that thought then almost getting knocked unconscious. She didn't tell anyone, she was afraid of being cast out again like she was in elementary school.
That was one of the reasons she didn't like getting lost in her own head, weird things happened and it freaked her out beyond belief.
She glanced over at him when he said his name was Ryder but that she could call him Jack. Jack... she liked that name. Simple yet mysterious somehow. Maybe it was because she was relating the name to Captain Jack Sparrow of Pirates of the Caribbean she didn't know nor did she really care. She looked back at the ground, tracing circles in the snow with her boot. She could feel the awkwardness slowly start to creep up on the situation but she choice fully ignored it. Things were only awkward if you made them awkward.
A soft laugh broke through her red lips when he answered her question. "Oh, y'know, there's nothing like being alone and freezing to death," She smiled at him. "No, actually I have no idea what I'm doing. My feet just led me here," she shrugged, pushing herself in circles on the swing, the chain groaning in protest as it went left to right instead of back to front. Allison turned her head so she was looking out over the rest of the park. She thought of summer and how kids would come here with their families and play games, part of her missed that. When she was a kid she didn't have to deal with all the stresses of being an adult and having to fend for herself. Back then all boys had cooties and her biggest worry was who would take the cherry scented marker first. Too bad life wasn't that simple anymore.
She turned back to Jack and thought about the worries she had now. She had to think about Cameron and what she was going to do about him, she had to remember not to do anything too crazy while at school, and she had to remember that she was almost an adult and she had to act like one. She had to put on a face for her clique no matter how she was really feeling, and it was hard. She had to learn to hide her emotions well with arrogance and pride. She had one more year of high school left, after that she was free.
"What grade are you in?" She asked abruptly. Surely she should know this.. she knew everything about everyone. Why was she lacking information on him?

________________________________________________________________________________ "Oh, y'know, there's nothing like being alone and freezing to death," jack turned to look at her again, this time with a look of mock surprise on his face. her smile was gorgeous, and it threw him off for a second, only hearing the end part of what she said next. ... My feet just led me here," jack gave her an 'eyebrows raised, eyes suspicious' fake smile and added, "usually i have a pretty good grasp on where i want my feet to take me." with a playful smile at the end. he was just teasing, not actually critizising her movement styles. the snow started to fall a bit harder, and jack glanced up at the sky to see the thick flakes coming down. it was cool how the flakes became darker and darker as they got closer to the ground, a seperation from the blanket of monotone grey that they came from. jack stuck his tounge out and caught a few, completely at ease with himself. if she wanted to call him childish and boring he would let her leave, he didn't need her in his life. jack had figured out long ago it was easier to not care what people thought than to worry about what they were thinking all the time. you only had one life to live, why spend it in a constant state of worry and fear? the swing that he was on squeaked in protest as he swung back and forth, his shoes dragging on the woodchips. her voice was slightly muted due to the magic of snow, but he turned to listen anyways. "What grade are you in?" jack's neck popped back as if he were offended, and he offered up another playful grin. "would you like a copy of my birth certificate as well?" he laughed easily and then stopped swinging, his feet planting in the woodchips. the second his feet stopped moving his hands began to move absently, rubbing the chains and twisting around. jack didn't even realize it, it was all subconcious - the need to be moving. his cleared his throat to let her know he was actually going to answer the question seriously, his brown eyes flicking back over to meet her gaze. "i'm a junior at baywood. you?" he used the quiet to study her face, finding himself comparing her to demi, noticing how very different they were, in good ways. ________________________________________________________________________________ when the lights go off, i wanna watch the way you take the stage by storm - the way you wrap those boys around your finger go on and play the leader, 'cause you know it's what you're good at the low road for the fast track, make every second last
