Reece sat in his dorm, his laptop in front of him as he scrolled through his facebook page. He smiled at the pictures of his family and the messages from back home. Reece really missed them, he wasn't sure what he was going to do staying all year at the boarding school. His eyes glanced around the small dorm and he decided to get out of there, it was pretty claustrophobic. He got up and pulled on his converses, deciding to head down to the roof. Usually it was pretty empty and would give him a chance to write his song. The boy picked up his guitar and placed the strap over his shoulder so the guitar slid onto his back. It was a rare occurrence if you saw Reece Matthew Hunter with his guitar. Most of the school were very unaware of his musical ability and most of the time he did his best to keep it that way.
3 minutes later and his converse clad feet could be heard walking towards the roof. Reece sighed and looked around, there was no-one to communicate with. He noticed a chair and he headed towards it, sitting down on the chair and placing his guitar on his lap. He began to strum carefully, the chords were soft and he played them a few times before beginning to sing.
“She's got a smile, that I die for
Everyone knows that I'm a prisoner of war for her
Yeah
Sometimes I wish I had a kung-fu grip;
Never let her slip away, she'd be my girl
I really wish she knew, what I feel is true
She'd be my doll, and I would be her hero, too
I'm so in love with her.
I don't care who knows that I'm ready to fight, ready to go;
Just like a GI Joe
Sometimes I wish I had a kung-fu grip;
I'd never let her slip away, she'd be my girl
I really wish she knew, what I feel is true
She would be my doll, and I would be her hero, too
Sometimes I wish I had a kung-fu grip;
I'd never let her slip away, she'd be my girl
I really wish she knew, what I feel is true
She would be my doll, and I would be her hero, too
She'd be my doll, and I would be her hero, too
She'd be my doll, and I would be her hero, too”
The song was relatively short because, well Reece was yet to finish it but he liked the way it sounded so far. His voice was soft and meaningful as the words came from his mouth. You could tell that the words meant something to him, they weren’t just lyrics to the boy, they were a story, a memory captured in a song. Reece was so engrossed in his song that he actually forgot where he was, he forgot that he was on the roof were anyone could enter. Reece usually kept his music to himself which was why it was a surprise for the boy to be singing in such an open area.
